The 'Pelamin'
The red carpet to the 'pelamin', where the bride and bridegroom seated throughout the ceremony.
Live music, an entrancing traditional melody called 'Gamelan'.
Believe it or not, these are some of the flowers left after they dismantle the decor. I took it first, then informed my neighbour later...lol!
My sweet neighbour gave me this fruit basket and 2 'Bunga Telur' as a token of appreciation for being a 'cooperative' neighbour...awwwh!
On top of it all, the caterer sent us these dishes, nasi beriani, ayam tomato, dinding daging, dalca, acar buah and kueh puteri 2 sebilik just before the dinner setting. So sweet and thoughtful of them!

Hi Anya
Come over and have a feast with me and my hairy kids! Bring Kareltje along too! :)
Hey Julie
The food was yummy! After having dinner at the wedding, we had the same menu next day at our house, and I froze the remainders that can last up to 3 more meals! Lol!
Most of my neighbours are great friends. I'm blessed to be in this neighbourhood! :)
Wedding looks fantastic. I hope you had a good time.
I'm not fond of West Malaysian weddings in general because of the "eat and run" factor. So many celebrations just have piles of people turn up for twenty minutes and then going off again. It's like a factory meeting.
I prefer weddings where guests stay, chat, mingle and form a wedding party. Sarawak weddings are usually fun!
Hi Ellen
That's an interesting comment, and I do agree to an extent. Normally the 'eat-n-run' (lol!!) thing happens at day-time weddings, where they put a 12.30-3.00 (for example)time frame and then the gueste will come at any time in that frame and some left to make way or table for newcomer guests, and some are rushing to another wedding on the same day. I believe its also the number of guests that you're inviting. And normally it happens at home weddings.
Exceptions are when you hold wedding receptions normally at hotel banquets or official large halls, where you can easily seat 300-800 guests at a time. When the time comes, I'll invite you to sample such wedding...lol! I don't knoiw when, but I'm sure you'll have fun!
This is my main blog.
Blogging has brought me to different worlds and different cultures. First time to see the Pelamin. And it is well adorned. Thanks for sharing.
