What Was It?

As I was asleep last night, suddenly I heard some faint but disturbing noise. I didn't know the time, but I can safely say between 2.00 to 4.00 am. It wasn't too loud, but sounds like some paper rustling. I wondered, did I leave my work on the bed again? I must move it so I could sleep. I wanted to get up, but I can't move. I forced my eyes open, and there it was right in front above me like a black sheet. I can't even called it a figure, because it was shapeless, all I can say is, it was totally black. There were sound effects too, like if you were watching the movie. Sound of wind blowing things up. Papers or leaves.

I was scared, but I manage to recite some Quranic verses starting with the Al-Ikhlas. Then I remembered a good friend telling me that when at times like this, read the surah Kursi, and when you get to the last verse, read it 3 times. Wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma wa huwal 'Aliyul adhem. True enough, and Alhamdulilah, everything dissapeared immediately. Even the sound effect. Things got back to normal and quiet, and peaceful again.

SubhanAllah!

But I still wonder...what was it!?

Ayat Al-Kursi has always been my 'protection verse' whenever I sense trouble or hard times. ever since I can remember. I've heard numerous stories about the strength of this ayat, but last night really proves it right, I feel, from my own personal experience. I just found this site on the ayat for further knowledge. Ayat al-Kursi, the Verse of the Throne.

Salam ydiana,

Alhamdulillah. But...one of these days, perhaps we should meet. There's one or 2 things we should know about Quranic verses, and over the net, it may be misconstrued.

Salam Shah

Why, did I do anything wrong? I am so puzzled over the incident. Have you heard anything like that?

ydiana,

No, you really have not done anything wrong. In fact, there have been many narrations on how Djinns have been destroyed - narrations ye, not hadith.

However, I'm not trying to scare you, but some Djinns including the devil, know the Quranic verses by heart themselves.

Another thing, once, many people use to hang Quranic verses in their homes - some like the art of khat, while others think it can ward off evil, or bring good luck, like many restaurant or sundry shops like to do. The thinking now, it is wrong to do the latter as it is a small shirik, but this is open to argument. I, for one, follow this thinking.

ps. snowflake has my hp number, and you are free to call me if you wish to, for us to talk about this more.

Hello Shah

Thanks for the explaination. I was afraid if I'm not supposed to repeat the verse or anything like that.

About the framed quranic verses, I would assume that most people (including moi), apart from admiring the khat, hang it to potray a muslim house, as reminders, and easy readings whatsoever. But to ward evil, maybe... a hope, but not something you hold on to.

Ok, thanks for the kind offer. :)

I saw a green cape kid (side view) at hujung katil in my room @ kampung last week circa 3/4 am. And I remember 'mamai'ly thinking... "ah man, I'm seeing 'them' - pls go away. I don't want to see u." Thank god it disappeared after 3 blinks! Dunno who...kampung ppl said its the bunian kid. Kalau x disappear gak, ayat kursi is the first i would recite as well. :)

Hi Intan

Wow, that is something else. I wonder why these 'things' appears. Do they want something or what.

And yes, read the ayat kursi, in situations like this. I can vouch for that.
